People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals(PETA) pressured Nabisco to change their animal crackers product packaging design. For more than a century, Nabisco’s cookie boxes touted a picture of caged animals. In line with PETA’s focus, they contacted the processed foods giant with a complaint.Since a picture is worth a thousand words, (and in this case might affect sales), the corporation listened to the customer feedback… and changed the picture. Now, the box features a zebra, elephant, lion, giraffe and gorilla wandering side-by-side in a grassland.

Think about your own personal product preferences. Ask yourself why you buy the things you buy. You’ll reveal those reasons and see why you justify your purchases.

Consumers buy according to what they see. People don’t really buy products; instead, they buy FEELINGS they believe they can get as a result of having/using a certain product. Part of the purchase allure begins in the package copy and the image that either inspires or motivates a certain feeling. The customer then associates the feeling with the product.

Additionally, people also HEAR what they see. Nowadays, prospects rely heavily on customer reviews. Customer reviews are consumer feedback!
