A recent study regarding digital shopping revealed that 47% of online shoppers felt great shopping comfort when able to identify and match physical packaging images to that of the online digital images associated with that actual physical product.That’s a high percentage of shoppers!

Interestingly, 24% who had returned product based the need to return the product so based on packaging image mismatch. When the online picture didn’t match the image on the actual physical product, they returned the product reporting that something looked wrong. Or, the shopper suspected the item was counterfeit.

In these days of cybersecurity scares being commonplace, it’s a good practice to make sure your online marketing images match what your customers really receive. Also, understanding the psychology of packaging and using it correctly helps your market develop long-term trust with your brand.
